I heard today that it's possible for a baby slate masked lovebird to molt out into an entirely new color. Is this true or is my leg being pulled?

Hi Laura,
That would be news to me, as well. Possible, but I've never had it happen!

WHEW!!!!!!! I wouldn't want to have that happen and have to hunt down another slate masked lovie :x :x. Though my husband shared with me that it was the vet who told him that because they had actually seen it happen :omg:.

Laura,
I won't say it can't happen. I've just never had it happen to me. This would be the exception rather than the rule.
Every time I write that a single lovebird hen can't hatch a baby, I bite my tongue because there's one documented case where this really happened.....
