when joey tries to preen where his tailfeathers used to be, he'll get real mad and then attack my hands (cuz he's sitting on my fingers). my bf is like, "that's cuz he knows who took them off" LOL. poor boo boo. he attacks my fingers as if i'm doing something to annoy him. guess he hasn't forgiven me completely. Boo boo, i said i'm sorry a million times already!!

Maybe you can give him some kind of preening toy to distract him?I know how you feel tho,I had a cockatiel whos tailfeathers I stepped on and she looked like a funky chicken for a while.Anyways her feathers grew back and she forgave me so don't let it get you down. /hugs
