Last night my little guy woke me up at about 2 am chirping softly (his cage is in my bedroom because I live in a small apartment and I spend most of my time in my room). At first I was concerned as he has never done this before but it only lasted for 30 seconds or so and then he was quiet again.
So the question is, have any of you heard your bird sleep chirping?

Yup.....they are known for doing this! It's a really cute sound, but some can actually get pretty loud when doing this.....my Rudy does it during the day and it's not really that quiet! Pip used to do it too when he got tired before bed time.....this was how I knew.....time to go to sleep!

Lol, I guess it's like men who snore, often times they're not woken up by it but everyone else is!

In the wild the birds chirp during the daytime when they are napping in order to fool predators into believing they are awake and alert. Sometimes when our birds are making the most noise is when they are all nap chirping! They have their heads tucked under their wings and their eyes closed and they will all be chirping loudly. It is cute, except maybe when it wakes you during the night.

the worst is when kath is cheeping quietly, then screech! like she's had a bad dream. always has me rushing over to make sure she's not caught or something. always gives me such a fright.

HA I never really thought about why they made so much noise in their sleep, thanks for pointing that out.Having seven napping lovies squeeking in their sleep gets loud as heck and I can't imagine more then that!
