Shhhhhh....DON'T tell Wrigley, but I have noticed over the last few days that the shoulder area that he constantly plucks bald is slowly becoming filled in with pin feathers!!! :omg:
Usually I see a few here and there that he removes within a day or so, but this morning I took a closer look and theres a whole bunch of all different lengths!!!!
I'm not going to kid myself that his plucking days are over, but it seems as though for right now he is going through a good period and seems to be letting them grow in. :)
Who knows? Maybe he wanted a "winter coat" now that it's getting cold outside?:rofl:

Carrie,
That's WONDERFUL!!!!!!!! :clap Like you said.....just in time for Christmas! I'm so happy to read this update! :)
Are you putting anything on the area or is he just leaving it alone?

Linda,
I've been using a supplement in their water called Rescue Remedy, and the only other thing that's changed is the addition of a full spectrum lamp that has been being used for 1 1/2 months or so. Perhaps it's the artificial sunlight???
I have seen him doing what I thought was the usual plucking, but apparently he's just been preening....
Regardless, It's nice to see all those little pinfeathers where there was just birdie-skin! :)

The extra light could be making Wrigley feel better but this one is a hard thing to pin down. I say "Amen!" and would keep up the current routine! :)

Awww.....that's really wonderful! You can't help but want the best for them, and when your hands feel tied it's just sad.....maybe, just maybe what you are doing now is helping and will continue! We can only hope....and if he plucks again, then, it's not the end of the world either! but what a great sign!
