Congrats for rescuing Tweety! She sounds gorgeous, and it's great that she already enjoys riding around on your shoulder. Hands may just freak her out. Can you get her to step up onto a dowel instead of your fingers?
Oh - and lovebirds are just plain messy (at least mine is!). Cipher is a picky brat, and will pick through his food and make a gigantic mess. There are some nifty food dishes on the market that will help contain the disaster :) (Trial and much error on our part!) Is she eating any fresh veggies yet?

She may just not like being handled, but you can try offering her a wooden stick (Dowel) to step onto instead. Or, try tucking your hand into your sleeve and offer her your arm instead.
Also have her wing feathers clipped by an avian groomer/vet. This will keep her more dependent for mobility on you.
It will take her some time to learn to trust you, but it sounds like you have a great start so far!
Lovies can be messy...no easy way around it. Some people like those cages that come with a seed catcher tray around the entire cage...I personally find that they are just more stuff to clean.
Try offering less food in her bowl (2 tbsp) per day. Serve that in a deep dish/bowl to reduce the chances of her flinging it out.
Good Luck with Tweety!

kim gave you great ideas. i started w/ one of mine that hates hands by offering him my hand tucked into my sleeve and slowly worked my way from there. he still hates hands, but hey, at least he'll eat from it w/o biting.
i think you might have a fischer's lovebird, a lutino fischer's...i think!! does she have a red beak?

she trys to attack me. What am l doing wrong?
Don't worry.....you aren't doing anything wrong! This is just how lovebirds are....especially females. You just have to get to know her better, know her body language to avoid the attacks and bites.....just takes time and she'll get better too after she knows you and trusts you more. It can sometimes be tough when you first start out. You just have to be strong and tough it out for her. In the end it will all be worth it!

Fishers are well known for being nippy...heck all of the eye ring species can be hard to handle. On top of that yours is a rescue.
Perseverance is the only thing I can recommend.

Thanks for everyone advise. Today she seems better sometimes she come on my finger or l wait until she comes to her door then l offer her my finger. She doesn't seem to want to fly away sometimes when she is on my finger she flys to my shoulder and grooms my hair l think thats a good sign she likes me. As far as the mess that doesn't bother me l clean everyday after 3 boys one bird isn't as messy as they are lol!! but l will try a deeper food bowl. I have offer her spinach, noodles, apples but doesn't seem interested in them but l keep trying. Anymore advise on anything would be great this is my first bird and l love hearing them singing or chatting.
Thank you,
Christina

sounds like she likes you :) yeah, just keep offering her the food. one of mine is still very picky about human food, unless it's corn. you can also play youtube videos of other lovies. when i first got joey, i used to do that all the time. he'd always be like, "what? where are the other birds?" lol
