Fidsitting yet again!

So I'm fidsitting for my folks again. They're going to oahu for doctors appts for my dad... and Hina is with us again.

She's got a full on torpedo butt & had already laid 2 eggs. Unfortunately my mom didn't remember that i told her to leave Hina her eggs & cleared out her cage before bringing her over. I gotta find a substitue next box for her.

She seems to be settling in okay... nothing ruffles her feathers very long. Sunny is agitated... their cages are side by side & while I had their covers back so they could see each other, Sunny started clicking & Hina started presenting. (sigh)

So I put the covers back & while they can hear & are calling a little back & forth, it seems to have calmed hina down a little, but sunny is still climbing the walls. i know they'll both settle down eventually but man, so noisy for now!

i forget, do they get along?

The first time they were together, sunny had moderate flight & we kept them in separate rooms. sunny would be incredibly bitey the whole time.

2nd time we kept them in the same room & sunny who was clipped (as she is now) mostly ignored hina but was nice to us.

I've never let them out of the cage at the same time. Hina is fully flighted & a serious biter. When she gets out of cage time it's in the bedroom with the door closed. I'm too afraid to let them out at the same time.
