My goodness! 14 lbs. of 4/5 nutriberries, 1/5 avicakes. I'd never tried the avicakes before, but they are a big hit! Everyone except Benny has tried them and they are all enjoying them... and Benny is my least pickiest eater, so I've got little doubt that he'll enjoy them too. :b_party:

When Chris felt the weight of the box he immediately began grumbling, "this is not free, let me find the invoice, let me find the bill, are you sure it didn't get charged to our...." but he was at last satisfied after finding "Free Samples" on the invoice.

Nutriberries or "berries" are Kokoro's most favorite thing, but we've only ever tried one flavor. He is in his element!

I've discovered that whenever I announce the arrival of treats, that every bird in my flock, except Sayuri, says "TREATS!! TREATS!" and Benny says "Treats! Treats! Me? Little Me? Treats!" :rotfl

Well, I know one thing- I run a small retail business that is being converted from fish supplies to parrot supplies and they will have my business for life, so long as their products and service sustain their quality.

Did they send different kinds of Nutriberries or are they all the same? I read on their website that the Nutriberries could be their main food source. I always thought of them as treats. I haven't tried Avicakes before...

I guess I better check this out for myself!

how do i get the samples? is there a special place on their website, or do i just send them an e-mail asking for sample?

I just sent an e-mail to this address asking to try their samples:

Info1@lafebercares.com

They arrived in under a week.

I'm not using them as a main food source, but I could! The way they are packaged- a bunch of the same type in little sealed ziplock bags, and then all of that type in one bigger bag- we are going to freeze most of them as we do our bulk seed and pellets, and take them out as they need them.

Avicakes were a big hit. Everyone devoured theirs. If only I hadn't been walking out the door, and if I had had a camera on-hand- Sayuri does this bit where she hangs upside-down from one foot to eat or play with toys- she's quite a precocious little thing, but she was hanging upside down by one foot, licking the avicake and pulling it apart with her beak.

Lafeber told me that a NutriBerry can indeed be a bird's whole source of food, but they MUST eat the entire berry. Meaning the center as well. Otherwise, it's a supplement or treat to their daily food.

Is there something different in the center of a Nutriberry?

I guess I will find out. I emailed them to ask for some samples yesterday and received a reply immediately telling me they would send me some.
