Great news!!!

Well as most of you know, I have been working with Tuki, our lovely Dutch Blue Peachface. Tonight... we had a breakthrough in our trust. I have been following the information I have read and have been told about up to now, keeping myself known to Tuki as well as dont push. Well anyways we went on our little journey to the bathroom for our 15 min session of getting out of the cage and getting to know each other. soooo....:happy:..... I opened Tuki's and enticed Tuki with some millet and Tuki totally ignored the millet... and as i was just sitting there on the ground just talking to Tuki, I'm just gonna call Tuki a he for the time being, but anyways he ignored the food and flew straight to my shoulder!!! :D I was almost in tears i was so happy, he stayed there for bout 10 secs looked around as I'm still talking to him, then he flew back to his cage. I also made sure that Tuki was known of my excitement by praising him a lot more and he definitely deserved a small bit of millet for his accomplishment! :clap

This is GREAT news!!!! Yup, it's a major breakthrough in your trust relationship with Tuki! :) Now that he sees you aren't going to try to hurt him, at least he partially sees this, you can believe there will be more visits, probably longer ones, too. Getting a lovebird to stay in one place for very long is close to mission impossible, as there are a lot of things to check out and explore, but this is a darned good beginning!

Awww, that's great! I love when Pip goes on my shoulder.....well, except for the fact that he can't sit still without constantly chewing on my clothes and leaving his little lovie beak holes on the shoulders of all my shirts!!!:roll:
