As you know I have a 2 year old black masked dude and I've been on 2 different waitinglists for a masked baby for a while now. Nothing seems to be happening so one of the people called me yesterday and told me he just got a peachfaced baby and if I wanted him.
This guy breeds and also buys unweaned babies, handfeeds them and sells them.
I went in today and took a look at the little guy and I'm oh so smitten!! He is the cutest little thing I've ever seen.
The question is does anyone have a peachfaced and a masked that get along? They wouldn't share a cage but of course I would want them to be friends! I'm thinking about the size difference as for what I've seen peachfaceds are a lot bigger than maskeds.

Look how cute!!

In my personal experiance yes, i have had ficher masked and peachfaced play together ok, My boo is half ficher half peachfaced so i would watch them when they are out playing to make sure there is no "adult" playing going on lol
Realy it depends more on the birds individual personality then breed.

Yeah of course it depends on the individual birdie. I'm pretty sure Pixel will behave. He is very well mannered and almost too well mannered regarding other birds. I've never seen him show any kind of aggression towards another bird, even when his cage in invaded.

That baby looks so precious and I can see why you are smitten!Make sure you get some plastic eggs to have on hand just in case they get frisky later on.

Yeah I would definitely keep an eye out for that kind of play! I just wanted to sneak him into my pocket and run away :p

Oh, I would go for it! They have different mating habits, and can create hybrids/mules if they do mate, but they can get along just fine.

I dont see why not. I mean, birds are like people. Some get along, some dont. But being that youre not caging them together (smart move btw) id go for it!

I have 2 peachies and 1 black masked. None of them get along, however it is because my first lovie is a bit spoiled and won't allow anyone near me. I have to sneak to hold anyone LOL

I'm getting that baby! Of course I know there's a change they won't get along and I'm prepared for that. Can't wait to get him home! :o) I'm going in to see him this afternoon and I was thinking about bringing him some toys since the guy doesn't provide them. Any pointers what would be good to bring him? A small teddybear for snuggling maybe?

I'm going to buy a small teddybear and throw it in the washer before I bring it to the baby. I have a happyhut that's not being used, would it be okay to put that in with the baby?

I got him a teddybear and he snuggled right up against it! Such a little sweetheart! I just want to stay there and watch him sleep!

I know! It's ridiculous!! I wouldn't know either, he isn't home yet but I'm ready to set up camp in the breeder's yard so I can be there and watch him all the friggin time!

We went in today to visit the little baby and to get his cage home. It feels more real now when his cage is home. I finally remembered to bring my camera so I got better pics of him than with my iphone earlier :o)
His feathers are growing so fast, poor baby, it can't be all that comfy.

omg that is adorable!!!!!! ahhh! good things I've lots of babies here LOL

I've 3 of my peachfaced in the same room as 4 of my blackmasked , cages are very close and though they sqwak back and forth there has never been any nastiness between them. I've never let any of them out together though.

I just realized a really FREAKY coincidence as I was flipping through my profile pics on facebook.
This is the profile pic I uploaded on March 22nd 2008, exactly 2 years ago. It was the Saturday before Easter and this is 10 months before I got Pixel and the idea of getting a parrot hadn't entered my mind yet.
