I just gave Martha a bath and she is like a wet rat! She says, " How could you do that? What did you do?" lol Sorry Martha!

Heheh, wet birdies are so cute. :)
My budgie loves baths. I used to give him showers under the kitchen sink tap, but I can no longer do that for fear of possible e. coli contamination. But he has a special birdie bath he uses (although he doesn't like it nearly as much as the shower).
My lovebirds take baths in their water bowls, ocassionally. Sometimes I put a dish out filled with water for bathing purposes, but of course they never use it.

Your birdie might not like a bath, but they are good for them. A birdie that doesn't get a good rinsing every now and then can develope skin and feather problems. She will get over being upset.
Try to give her a bowl, next time, and see if she will take a little dip herself.

I will. I ussually just dip her lightly. But I messed up. lol

Well, it's not necessarily a mess up. I hold my birds carefully and give them a dunk bath up to the neck every week. They have come to trust me, so this is fine. I scoop water over their backs and they perch on my finger. This works well for us, but as I say, they really need to trust you first so they don't feel they are being drowned.

Trixie screams for a bath 3 or 4 times a week. At first she asks with her sweet peepers. If we dont get the hint it escaltes until its almost full blown screetching mode.
Karen figured it out one day when she went to the sink for something after Trix started her demanding peeps. SHe walked down Karens arm and practically jumpoed into the water stream! :lol
So after she starts the loud peepers we give in and put her under some water in out palm and then flip her over. She just LOVES her baths.
Its a different "song" than the head scritchens, feed me, love me, kiss me, snuggle me, play with me peeps. :)
Sometimes if we give her a bath in the morning, she will take another on her own around dinner when she is feeding. Not all the time but every once in a while.
I think she figured out that baths help her to quit itching during the dreaded molt.

Some of my birdies like to be misted with a spray bottle. I just point the spray up and it falls on them like rain. I know they want it when they stay under the water. If they run away I know they're not in the mood. The other day, I gave like six birdies a misting and my hand started cramping from all the hand pumping :D

Misting works well in my house to get the flock bathing. Once they get a little mist, one will jump in a water dish and start....from there the madness begins. The tamer lovies want a small dish to bathe in or two of them like to bath in the kitchen sink while you have the water running.

How other then just putting a water dish out for them can you give them a bath ? Lucy and Von don't seem to interested in the water as in bathing in it, I have only seen them do it once each. Is there a way to coax them, or help them realize how much fun it is??

Taylor, my older lovie, Oliver, will not take a bath other than to stick his head in his water dish. When he's molting, I know he would be much more comfortable if he could get his entire body wet so I do hold him in the sink and soak him from the neck down. Be sure the sink is clean....no bleach or soap in it. I do this about twice a week during molting and about once a week otherwise. I tried a spray bottle first and he was horrified of that. Shy suggested I dunk him (again, just below the neck area) and so I do and he feels much better afterwards. How do I know that??? I just do! :D
My babies LOVE a bath and will jump right into their bowl! :)
