The lovebirds are quietly snuggling and preening each other. The budgies are listening to the rain and having an early afternoon nap. One grey is in my ensuite bathroom signing "Everybody dance now!" and the other is roaming the kitchen as the smell of food is getting stronger hoping the get a warm bite to eat.

What are your birdies up to this Sunday afternoon?

Florida is sunny year round, even when it's cold, and when it rains, everything is a bit darker than normal. That puts most everyone is "quiet mode" and I'm enjoying a day of peace, or at least part of one. It's raining here, too, today and I think it's supposed to be like this all day long. Strange not hearing parrot chatter! Even the lovebirds are somewhat muted. The most racket I hear is when the rain drops hit the top of the pan roof that's over my main aviary!

My two have spent most of the day in the nest box preening each other and occassionally squabbling, they then came out and destroyed my magazine whilst I cleaned up the cage and then the magazine mess (no official cleaning out until no more nestiness!) and after being told off for biting me Sticky poo'd on me....

Theyre both pretty chilled out right now :)

The sun is in and out here.....kinda gloomy most of the time though, and quite chilly out! At least it's not raining! looks like it could at any time. On dreary days mine are less active too and quieter, but there have been some dark days that they made a racket too! Mine are all enjoying their nice clean cages! & and clean room, since I went on a cleaning frenzy yesterday! Pip and Rudy may have a visitor today too, the parrotlet next door Bob may come for a visit.....we're anxious to see if Bob might get along with Rudy, seeing as neither of them really has a birdie friend. Pip gets along with Bob, so we're hoping Rudy will too. Poor Bob lost his mate about a year and half ago and they think he really needs some birdie companionship.
Rudy and Pip seem to do ok out together and show signs of liking of each other, but yet when they get too close to each other, they always fight. They don't seem to go after each other or hate each other, and will call to each other when one's in another room. Pip even seems concerned about Rudy when he starts making scared chirps and yells when a stranger is here and gets too close. From the way they act, you'd think they were good friends, but yet they still fight when they get close to each other.

Right now its nap time for both my lovie boys. ..While Beeber's prefers his cage for napping, Goof makes himself comfortable wherever it is he happens to be. .... I'll probably start dinner around 3, which i'm sure will get both their attention. ... Goof moreso than Beebs on the food happenings, little by little, Beebs is edging himself closer to the festivities. ... Obviously, whenever things are cooking, I have no choice but to cage them, however, whenever i'm preparing foods that don't require the stove, thats when the real fun begins. ...One time Goof got so rambunctious, he hopped right inside the refrigerator!..........:omg:

Its a chilly day here.........:x

it's a sunny and warm afternoon. right now, they are enjoying flock time. i got joey on my head, jada on the couch, and hermes and chomper are doing their thing. evie is in her nestbox and pan is searching for food or something. and milo is under the couch. and i'm keeping an eye on them, eating freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, on the net, and watching stranger than fiction.

its a beautiful day here in the Sierra foothills. Finally. We've had a very long winter beginning the first week of December (20 inches of snow) and we had 4 inches just last monday....so its nice to see the sun out. Hope it stays for a while.

The outdoor birds are chirping, the hummingbirds are looking for food, and my flock are busy with their "family dynamics" (squabbling, learning to fly, learning to eat, fighting over who gets to be in the snuggle hut)....also have seen alot of does and fawns but no bucks yet (whitetail deer) and the wild turkey toms are out looking for girlfriends....the irises are blooming as are the cherry, pear, and apple trees....

I pulled out the hummingbird feeders and got them all cleaned up, and just made some fresh nectar. Just waiting for it to cool down so I can fill them and hang them outside.

Our Airedale terrier, Bonnie, is enjoying scampering about outside and digging holes (looking for gophers). My stedaughter's dogs are here with us for now and they were spayed last week so they are both napping peacefully. The cats have all retreated to the bedroom where they are all sprawled out on the bed. I sent Ray out to get sandwiches, expect him back any minute. He's preparing a spot for the chicken house...were getting 2 dozen silver wyandotte chicks at the end of the month. Its a busy time here at the ranch!
