View Full Version : Picky about bathing...
Frodo's obsession with the fridge reached new...'heights'...(argh!) this morning with her refusal to take a bath in her saucer on the table, as she usually does almost every morning. She kept flying up onto the top of the fridge instead and each attempt to move her back to the table top (which is in another room, down the hall from the kitchen) resulted in another flight to her little fridge-top domain. My boyfriend eventually suggested that we could put a towel down on the fridge top and place the bath up there- she immediately jumped into the saucer and started splashing around like a little duck. I wonder what will happen tomorrow morning.... It's so funny how much she runs things.

Frodo bathes daily? Really?
None of my birds have ever bathed that often! Since Sayuri arrived, Benny has bathed every other to every third day or so, and Kokoro bathes 1-2 weekly, the lovies 1 weekly-bi weekly. Sometimes they'll all bathe at the same time in their own water dishes.
If you don't watch out, she'll have you moving her cage up there and before long you'll be flying in a master goldsmith to fashion her a crown and scepter and a blacksmith to smithy you shackles and chains!
I've recently started encouraging her to bathe almost daily, in an attempt to lessen her tendency to feather pluck/chew on her leg...she's usually pretty happy to comply; she really seems to like water (in a saucer though- she hates being misted...she often thinks the soapy dish water looks inviting, though, unfortunately). That must be so cute when your birdies all bathe together; it's so funny to see the splashing and beak-shaking and attempts to fluff out wet feathers when Frodo gets into her saucer.
And I think I may draw the line at the master goldsmith- my budget can only stretch so far ! :omg:
