Recently there was a question about the safety of fleece for making bird toys, and it was noted that there were many chemicals and preservatives that make most synthetic fleece unsafe.
I'm ordering some organic, untreated, completely natural cotton and cotton/hemp fleece to make some blankets, line some clothing and make bird toys with. It may not have the same qualities as synthetic fleece, but it will be soft and good for bird toys, beds and snugglies. I'm going to make something like this http://www.yourparrotplace.com/product.php?productid=16661&cat=292&page=1 for Sayuri (and especially for when she moves in with Ben.) Sayuri eats happy huts so she lost hers, and Benny won't sleep in a happy hut- he sleeps beneath a toy that he calls "friend" which has ropes that hang down around him but it isn't big enough for two to sleep beneath it.
Anyhow, organic fleece... Its out there, you just have to be specific when you search for it.
