I have heard that its possible to teach lovebirds one or two words, is this true? If so is their any secrets to getting them to talk.

Yes, it's possible to teach lovebirds to talk but they are much better known for their antics than they are for their speech ability. Most parrots are capable of speech but some just don't. Ginger (CAG) is 21+ years old and has yet to utter word one. She can whistle and mimic noises with the best of them. Does the fact that she doesn't talk bother me? Nope! I love her just the same!

Repetition is the best way to go about what you want to do. Keep in mind that parrots will say things that they like the sound of faster than they will say things that don't catch their interest.
