Hello we have an 8-month-old blue Dutch. For the pass week or to we notice our bird Capri masturbating a lot. It’s at the point that almost all the feathers around his bottom area are missing, we tried keeping active with new toys and different setups in the cage. We play with him 3 to 4 hours a day out of the cage on average per day. Any suggestion on this matter would be very grateful.
Thank you
One bird for one heart.

I don't know very much about this, but I just wanted to say welcome to the community! I'm sure you will have some good advice on this matter!

Sigh.. another overly hormonal lovie.
My Pixel is like that. I have to be very vigilant about which toys he has in his cage as he focuses on them. Pixel can't have any bells or leather strings, no swings or boings either. Some toys he just plays with but others become a sexual thing. I can tell which ones since he masturbates next to them or bites on them while he masturbates. If he likes a new toy too much I take it out.
What kind of a diet is he on? Too much calorie intake can have an effect according to an avian vet I recently talked to.
Sleeping? How many hours does he get a night?
