Today I tried to give my lovie some scrambled eggs (no butter or oils I promise, just the bar egg) for breakfest for the first time. I held a piece up to her and flew away! Then I put it down on the plate and she came back and landed by the plate, and started to eat some of the fruit I put on it, but then she looked up and saw the eggs and made a mad flight for my head! Is she scared of eggs?

She's not afraid of it. She just doesn't know what it is so that means it's EVIL!!!!! The trick is getting her realize that scrambled egg is something edible. You may have to mix it with something else (egg chopped up in tiny peaces) before she will even consider getting near it! In her eyes, she doesn't want to become the meal.......

Would mixing it with some of her favorite fruits and veggies be best or do you think she might just try to eat around the eggs?

Try mixing everything together and see what she'll do. With a lovebird, you never know so all you can do is try! :lol

Hee hee - what a goof! Cipher would eat scrambled eggs, but only if they were stone cold. Warm food freaked him out to no end!

Yes, and Atreides is SUCH a little cuddle bug! He's yet another "velcro birdie" already. Our breeder has just the sweetest-tempered little lovies :) He is going to be one spoiled little guy (or gal - I'll DNA check him in a few weeks).

I'll see if I can get him to pose for a photo shoot tonight. I have no earthly idea what my kids have done with my camera (probably taking 300 close-up pictures of their feet), so I'll have to find that first.
