Does it ever happen that your birds just don't want to go to sleep even after you cover them and turn the lights off? That they still make noise like it's broad daylight? And I am talking about not before they get settled and start sleeping, but thew whole time or just off and on during the night? Why would they do that and how to stop them(especially if you don't have an extra room so you're with them and awake...)
Does it ever happen???

Most nights mine all go to sleep happily, but yes, I get some nights where they give me a hard time and don't seem to want to go, but once they're all covered and lights out, it takes about five minutes for them to settle down and they get quiet and go to sleep like good birdies!:D

But I am talking about hard times, once covered and in the dark! Or if they fall asleep and in the middle of the night become vocal,in the dark, covered.Maybe they hear some bird outside...don't know.Because I can hear birds out as early as 3 am...Airconditioner helps a little with that but once I won't have to use it-they'll hear birds all the time...

Maybe he is trying to tell you something, like he is too cold. Mine all have to have perfect conditions to sleep. All lights are off, tv off, not too hot or cold, etc. or they will peep.

Like many humans, birds tend have an internal clock. .. For some, this clock can be altered by covering them either early, or uncovering them late. ... For others, no matter what you do, they will rise and shine whenever they darn well feel like it. ... In part, this may be why your birds carry on for a bit, even after being covered. ... I'm sure you've noticed how sensitive your birds are to contact calls made by other birds. ..Be it from a television, computer, or 3:AM partygoers, all it takes is one little peep, and they now have the need to reciprocate. Besides this, there may be other attractive noises going on as well. .. So what can you do about it? ..Not really a whole lot. ..About the only thing I could think of, is to try limiting the amount of noise going on during nite nite time. .. Another thing to consider, is that an occasional nightime peep or two is entirely normal.. Whether by habit or natural instinct, like a late night snack, this could very well be their nightime ritual.

Could they be trying to tell you their too cold? ..Its possible, or, they may even be responding to the noise of the air conditioner. .. Have you ever noticed your birds standing on one foot? .. That usually indicates their trying to conserve body heat. ...........:cold

well, temp wise-it's fine.daytime, same as nite time. And they don't peep like mad peep(know that one, haha) but just vocal..not all the time, but here and there.Unfortunatelly,I don't have an empty room where I can turn everything off early and close the door...they will always end up with someone, any room I choose. So they just have to accept different covering time because one of the people comes home at 8pm from wrk so there's no way of sleeping at 8.Unless I move them in a big walk in closet(it's almost like half of child's room)but the door has to be open anyways..Well,this isn't all the time..but I am always affraid it may become ongoing thing so we'll walking around sleepy like zombies :)))

yes-i've seen Blue standing on one foot but you know what? This is when is very very hot :) These days in NY was very hot and I was taking 3-4 showers but Blue was standing on one foot for a few minutes while napping...there's no way he was cold :) Does it have any other meaning?
I remember my budgie used to do it all the time, but only while sleeping, regardless of temp...
