Do all lovebirds go NUTS about laptop/keyboards?

Tarquin just can't get enough! He tries to rip keys off, chases the cursor around the screen, buries under anyone's hands whilst they're trying to type, stands mesmerised by the screen just 'tasting' it (he looks like he's in a trance!) It's so odd! He's very active, but he doesn't get animated about anything else in such a major way.

I'm maybe a little worried that he's becoming territorial over it. If you take him off it and put him somewhere else he's straight back and will even nip at fingers on keys. Funny little bird. And also chewing the cables... that just can't be healthy, although obviously we keep a keen eye on him doing that.

I did read on another thread something similar, I'm just wondering if it's common with birds of all ages? Tarquin is so young, I wonder if he's attracted by the sounds and colours in the same way as a child would be?

Well Icetalon may be the only one but she does not seem to be intrested in the computer at all. She would rather sit on my head than the keyboard. Their has only been a couple times where she has attacked my typing fingers, but she would rather chew on my hair.

All my personal pets seem to be attracted by my computer!!! I finally had to get a wireless keyboard and mouse because Ginger (CAG) always managed to find those particular cords and chew them in half..... I got tired of replacing both items! :lol

Anything on my computer desk acts like a magnet for my birds. Doesn't seem to matter to them that my desk is glass (another item I had to replace because my Greys were slowly turning it into toothpicks)!

It's been my experience that computer desks could easily replace playgyms..... Your lovebird is not the exception; Icetalon is!!

Pip doesn't really care too much about the computer either, but he loves the monitor!....he likes to sit on it because it gives off some warmth and he gets all cozy and starts beak grinding and likes to take a snooze there! It's probably the only thing that will calm him down for a nice little nap!

Try playing 7-tube videos of lovebirds with the speakers on! Then see how much attention the computer gets.
