I see a lots of you use colored pop sticks to make toys for lovebirds..I see those in 99c stores(colored ones) but i am affraid to give it to a bird because i don't know if the color may be bad for them...so where do you buy yours???

I just get the plain ones, with no colorings.....they are just as much fun to chew up as ones that are brightly colored! I got mine in a craft store.

I agree, Kim!

The fun is in the destruction. The birds don't care! Coloring is to make them more pleasant for the human eye.....

I saw plain ones too,I may get them then, just hope they are not bad for them...I have a plastic ball with a bell (for cats) bigger one and I want to fill the holes with sticks and hang it so they can play with it,since they are playing with small balls now...

The wood from popsicle sticks is perfectly safe for birds to chew. A lot of bird toys are made using them. :)

Thought the birds loved colors. You could use Jell-O mix or Kool-Aid to color the sticks if you wanted them colored. Usaly the sticks that come colored are kid safe but, I don't know if that goes for birds as well.
