My lovebird, Gypsy, was not a plucker to my knowledge but recently she has plucked a few feathers out from her back. I rotate her toys once a week and when I am out I either put her by the window or the TV and I am home every evening and all day every weekend with her. She recently laid three eggs and made a nest in the corner of the cage. I was wondering if this is a brood spot? It's not on the underside of her body but she did not pluck there at all. It seemed to stop after she stopped incubating the eggs. I heard that this behaviour can become a habit and if she picks it up it will be extremely difficult to stop. Is that what she was doing? I understand she was probably hormonal but she has not been grumpier than usual or anything.
