Ok as you all know,I have 2 lovies for almost a yr now.One,who is always in the cage(wild one) and one who is out of the cage at least for 2 hours every single day(lots of times even more than that but minimal 2 hours free flying time).
The one who's in the cage is fine like that because he always finds something to play with and it's never bored,but the one that has free time,when in the cage-doesn't use any toys or anything just seats there and chirp and wait for time to get out,so when he's out-that's when he is playing...Recently I moved to a smaller apt and the walls are so **** thin that I can hear everyone talking from word to word.So the only place I can let my lovie fly is my bedroom but then he's so loud that it bothers other people upstairs...So I need to take my lovies back to my parents apt(from which we just moved) and they are used to the place and it's always someone at home,but this is my concern;
MY MOM IS NOT COMFY TO LET MY LOVIE OUT TO FLY FREE BECAUSE SHE CANNOT CATCH HIM.And I am not comfy because he can fly out to kitchen and who knows where else,but I am not able to go down every day and let him fly while I am there,it will have to be every few days...WOULD THAT BE A PROBLEM FOR A BIRD THAT IS USED TO BE OUT EVERY DAY??? WILL IT AFFECT HIS HEALTH? OR WILL HE GET USED TO BE IN THE CAGE as the other one and be out only when I am available???I know my parents will take care of them nicely,beside I am here in the sam building too,but what about flying time???
Is that a problem or your birds sometims don't go out for a few days too if there's no time????

If you have a big cage with loads of room, been let of to fly only every couple of days should be ok.
Gizmo only comes out every other day to spend time with me because i have a lot of birds and they all have to be let out seperately, she is ok with this she has loads of toys and a fairly big cage and she seems happy enough.

It really depends alot on the bird. Pip would never want to sit still to stay in his cage all day for even one day! but then we do have lives and sometimes have to be away for a day and he does just fine with it. They seem to know when no one is home and are more accpeting of being in cage during those times. When they know you're home though, they know to expect to be out! Everyone goes through times when they aren't able to let their birds out at some point.....things come up and with my birds, I usually just make it up to them on my days off and they're out all day! As long as the cage is roomy enough and he has lots of toys to play with he should be just fine with it all!

that's the same thing with my other bird who is almost never out,but he plays with all toys and never seemd to get bored..but he is used to it though,unlike the other one who has tons of toys but don't use any unless he is out...
