My situation right now is Zidi and Chupa had 3 babies. Zidi is currently at a friends house and will come back when the babies are weaned. 1 baby is going to grandma. 1 baby is going to a friend. 1 baby I would like to keep.

I have my suspicions that Zidi and Chupa are brother/sister. The lady I got them from said they had been together their whole lives (2 1/2 years) This was their 2ND owner so I have no way to confirm my suspicions. Also, the reason Zidi had to go on vacation was because of her aggressive plucking of her babies. This was their first clutch. I don't think I want to breed her again and go through that stress. I don't want to give up on Zidi but I think she is very happy being an only bird.

I have really enjoyed this baby experience except for the birdie drama.
Maybe it would be different if I found Chupa a new wife? What would you do?

P.s. today I am not wearing my heart on my sleeve, so I won't take it personal.

I'm too much romantic to advise you of finding at Chupa a new wife..
I would like to advise you of letting still them together however I would NOT let them to breed anymore..

If you want to re-pair him then go for it. They can move onto new mates pretty easy with little drama. I personally wouldn't reconmend breeding her again, due to her bad plucking habits.

That or move the cage, and switch the toys around and take out any shredding toy from the cage and remove the nest box... i recently did this my pair had their 1st clutch in april... they had 5 babies... after 1 baby died squashed by its 2 older siblings i had to take the 2 older babies to hand feed them... i left the other 2 with parents and 2 weeks and a half later i discovered the dad was plucking their good down coat...so i took them out... took the nest boxdown, changed toys, took their only shredding toy out... changed a few perches of position around the cage and added 2 new toys to their cage... :) so you can try doing this... its been about 3 weeks... and no eggs at all. The chicks are now 6 weeks old and they are in a baby cage now.

Thank you all for your input.:)

I still have some time to decide what to do. Chupa and Zidi both seem fine with being separated from each other and my house is so nice and peaceful without her here...(lightning strikes me:omg:)

If I could find someone to love on Zidi and treat her like a spoiled only bird queen permanently I would feel different. But it is hard to find people who think like I do, except here of course.

But again, thank you all.
