Not sure where to put this, so move it if inappropriate here, Linda. My mom has taken a turn for the worse & it looks like she won't make it to the big 100 in August. But she did rally a bit tonight. I have very mixed feelings...we are never ready to say goodbye to our parents but she is so unhappy these days. She, and our family, can really use your strenthening thoughts right now....

We send you our thoughts and prayers. My wife just had to say good bye to her Mother in March.:very_sad: I lost my parents seperately 18 and 20 years ago. Not a day goes by that I don't think of them, always the positive.
In fact I got my Lovies because I was in love with my Mom's Lovie Cheeky. I had wanted one for 20 years, so even after all the years without her she still inspires and guides me.
So we send love and good wishes from Sacramento to you !

Prayers and kind thoughts coming from me to you. My mom passed away in 2001 and we were very close, from a distance. I, too, think about her every day, especially since I share the same eye problem that she had. Your mother has had a long life and, in her own mind, she probably feels it's her time to leave. All you can do is love her and be there for her.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom & family. I'm one of the lucky ones......both my parents are still here with me, and I am actually staying with them at the moment, so I have some time to spend with them.

Well, we've had a pretty good day. Her blood pressure is back up, from, to quote a "tactful" Kaiser nurse, "nothing". She slept most of the day but did wake for lunch & ate some soup & not just Breeze & cranberry juice! She refused dinner but went for the popcicles my sister brought BIG time, downing 6 & proving she can, indeed, still chew--when she wants to. It was good to spend a day with her when she was resting peacefully & not crying. And Kim, I hear you. I'm one of the few of my friends in my age range who still has a mom. I'm waiting for the nurse to take her blood pressure before I head back to my sister's. I have to work tomorrow but I'm way to tired to drive the two & a half hours home tonight. Poor Gussie. She had to ride up with me in her tiny carrier since when I got the call to come NOW last night it was too late to arrange boarding for her & I didn't know how long I'd be staying. She is very wary of me these days, what with all the boarding & now a LONG ride in that little bitty cage. I had to be sneaky to get her into her "staying at grandma's" cage this morning, smart little feather butt.
I think we are, in fact, approaching the end but it doesn't look like it will be tonight :)
Thank you for all the kind thoughts & prayers. I do believe prayer works...I don't know how it works, but it does work!
Wow, the nurse just came in: BP is 130/65!!! Twenty four hours ago it was something like 80/35. She's the "toughest old bird" I know!!! And now, to bed...after a little snuggling with my baby. She really is "good medicine" for me :)

I'm full of positive thoughts at the moment so i'll send some your way! It's nice to hear today was a better day :)
My moms having surgery today as she has breast cancer. It was a big shock, come out the blue really. She was 53 on Saturday. I'm in another country and can't be with her today which sucks, but i'll be going back when she starts the chemo etc. She's staying positive and the doctors say they can get rid of it, so it's all about positive thinking at the moment!
