my dad lovebird has a patch of white feathers on the back of his neck, i tried to look at it closer but he is not tame,,,,,, it started out as just a few feathers and it is getting bigger, he is not missing any feathers it is just a white patch of feathers on the back of his neck. i will take a picture after work and post it. any ideas what it could be?

Change in feather coloring (dark to light or mutation color to yellow or white) can be an early sign of liver problems. Any change in beak length? Pictures, please, if possible.

or it could be a mutation, genetic modification or moult stress.

He looks really good so I doubt it's liver problems. I'm inclined to go with Personatus and say it's a mutation or genetic modification. His feathering looks very nice.

i seem to always be worring about my birds, still worried about pigs weird looking feathers too but he seems healthy in every way other than being a scruffy ugly duckling lol
