Very shy

I have recently been given 2 lovebirds for my birthday one is peach faced and the other is a dutch blue. I want to tame but they are very hand shy, my peach is getting better. I know it will take a while and will not happen over night but i just wanted to know what is the best way to go about taming them.
I have read so many different articles all saying different things so am very confused the best action to take,

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new Lovies!:)
There are several helpful threads on this forum that go into more on training and taming.
A lot will depend on what you are wanting out of your relationship with your birds and what you are willing to put into it.
Lovebirds are capable of giving a lot back.
My family has had great success with clicker training our pets. We have successfully worked with our Lovebirds our dog and even our bunny. I hope this helps.
