I went to one of the local bird shows today (There's another one next week!) looking for a couple of female lovies since we are a little male heavy here. There was NO ONE there with lovies at all! Of any kind.... not quite sure what the deal with that is!
But I did wind up leaving with a beautiful dilute cobalt linnie :) We should find out what Archimedes is by the end of the week!

Pics!! I absolutely adore Linnies. They're my second favorite - after lovebirds of course! :)

I'm finding this to be the case everywhere. The economy is bad and many breeders are simply selling out because there's no market. I have a few females, depending on what you are looking for. Send me a PM if I can be of any help.

Absolutely! Here is a pic of our new linnie, Archimedes! And one of the GCC I am in the process of handfeeding, Sunshine ;)

Archie was not handfed and I am waiting for DNA results so I can find a proper mate for him/her! The breeder that I got him from at the show had no idea what mutation he was and SERIOUSLY under priced him!

Not the best pic but it's the only one that really turned up of Sunny :rotfl I've been handfeeding him since he was about 2 weeks old. He's currently in a "big bird" cage during the day and back in the brooder at night to stay warm.

What a pretty Linnie Archimedes is! Shame the breeder is selling birds and doesn't know what they are really selling! Linnies fascinate me but I've never taken the plunge to get one. :)

I've been thinking about it for a while now but they're very hard to find out here. I was surprised to see this little guy at the show  The man I got him from was very knowledgeable when it came to IRN mutations but is just getting in to linnies... Eventually I'd also like to get parrotlets since they're also something that you only see at bird shows (at least the color mutations are) or in the occasional pet store here...and the ones I've seen there have all been plucked almost bare :omg:
