Hello, as some of u may have read, Olive and Rudy recently landed on my head for the first time :rotfl and have been doing it a few times since. However, while i am happy they have gained the confidence to land on me, i am a bit concerned that they seem to be chewing my hair! And seeing how quick they get through a sisal ball or similar, i am a bit worried about ending up with birds nest hair! When they do it, i have been putting my hand up to them and saying no, but then they bite my hands and i am obviously making my hands non approachable by associating them with a telling off! I end up having to put my hand behind them (if i can figure out where they r to avoid a biting!) and nudging them, then they fly off, but again, i am worried that this will put them off ever coming to my hand
Any tips? Do ur birds not chew ur hair when they land on ur head/shoulders?
Thanks :)

My birds both land on my head and preen my hair. I think they're just mouthing my hair rather than biting/chewing it.I'm no expert but I see it as them seeing you as part of their flock/socialising etc so personally, I wouldn't discourage it unless they chew your hair so long that it gets damaged, then you can distract them with a toy etc.

Aw thanks i'm one of the flock! Yay! Will leave them to it then unless they r noticably chewing my hair!
