"The price of freedom visible here."
This is the wording on a sign that I pass everyday when I visit my husband who has been an inpatient in the Veteran's Hospital since the end of September. Many of our armed forces have paid the ultimate price for our freedom with their lives, while others have also made sacrifices that are not as well known. Those 6 words have taken on a new meaning for me, personally, and I would like ask all of you to think about those who have defended our country so that we can have the freedoms that we so enjoy.
They're bitter sweet words...
It's hard sometimes in our day to day life, we think our troubles are the only ones happening in this world.. when reality is, they are a tiny drop of sand on a beach.
Being in a commonwealth, today for us is remembrance day. It's generally for past forces but with our day in age, it should apply to the current ones too.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

I'll never forget the brave ones who fought, and many of which died, to give us the freedom we have today. Even though my grandfather is no longer with us, he'll always be in my memories and have my utter most respect for his service to his country. It's people like him who put the great into Great Britian. A dying kind and ones who should NEVER be forgotten.
I doubt many people these days can comprehend what it was like for those youngsters fighting for their freedom and the freedom/security of their future generations. I just wish, as a modern day society, we would not take for granted what we have, and the mass sacrifices given to provide it for us. Maybe, just maybe, we would then start cherishing what we have and sustain the lives many died to give us.
RIP and thank you to all the fallen and the living. Never forget.
