I have two male Black Masted Lovebirds- father and son. In my great wisdom, I have allowed these two to be free within their room, and at times through the house. They have a cage but never sleep in it. I built them birdie paradise, one of the features are matching "bachelor pads" (thatched tubes) attached to a small tree. That's where they sleep. They come with in inches of me but will not get on my finger...

Now- the problem is I am moving to NC and need to figure out the best way to lure them back into sleeping in the cage. I figure I'd tie the "bachelor pads" inside the cage, and eventually bring the food and water in the cage. The cage will be a tight squeeze.

I have thought of getting their wings clipped, and then let them grow out after the move but I feel it will be too traumatic. Ideas??

Dim the lights and throw a towel over them....

Use a net?

Wing clipping is not too traumatic, and it will grow back in 2-3 months time.
