View Full Version : Under Newspaper?

On the bottom of my lovebird's cage (over the grate that keeps her from the tray), I laid a piece of newspaper so if she wanted to chew at all it was down there for her. I trade it out every day but she has never displayed any sort of interest in it at all.

I've been gone for about five hours, just came back and realized I couldn't find her in the cage. Panicked for about twelve seconds until I noticed the newspaper on the bottom was breathing... :omg:

She has never done anything like this. The only time she likes cuddling with any sort of object is after her baths, and never with paper. She seems happy, breathing properly, looking around and alert its just... weird. Any ideas on why she is doing this now, and never before? And should I allow her to? It doesn't seem like anything bad but I don't know lol.

Thanks for any ideas!

Comfort and warmth maybe? ... One of my males loves to cuddle. ..I've found him nestled under everything from a newspaper I just read, to inside one of my jackets hanging in the closet. .. Up shirt sleeve's, pant legs, and hidden under blankets, he's even stuffed himself tightly between two couch cushions! .. I literally have to watch where I sit sometimes! ...........:)
