Hi i have 2 lovebirds 1peachfaced and 1 black cheeked i think, they have been together for years not sure how many exactly when i got them their was a breeding box in the cage which i took out straight away now iv'e gave them happy huts 2 sleep in but the peachfaced female i think has become spiteful with the other and won't let him sleep in either of them she chases him out any idea what i could do to stop this behaviour.

Those happy huts are just like a nest box to lovies...take it out and don't supply any type of 'bed' for your bird family. The females will get territorial over anything they claim to be nest worthy:)

Yeah, they are perfectly content to sleep on perches, especially if you get a nice rope textured one. Some will also sleep on a favorite toy, like a swing. Actually, the cozies can be dangerous, as some lovies will start to ingest the fluff on the inside and get an impacted crop.

Yup :) With the exception of a few of my older lovebirds, mine sleep on perches of various kinds. I have a half coconut shell swing that I made for quite a few of my lovies and the half shell will hold 2 birds very comfortably. Many of mine like to sleep in the swing toy.

They are fine to sleep on perches. I had one lovebird who liked to sleep like a bat almost.lol.

I know of a budgie (appropriately named aerial) that spends almost all of her time upside down. The funny thing is, she's also a breeder, and she always takes a while to lay because she's more interested in being upside down than mating. :rotfl
