Hey, everyone! It's been a while... I don't remember how many months now... but things have just been busy and stressful at home and I had to cut bird forums out because they took up quite a bit of my time looking at threads, responding to threads, etc.
We've recently had a loved one pass and now we're in the process of trying to renovate our new (but old) house, which is taking a lot of time and and will take a ton of money. The bf won't be able to move in until the basic renovations are done, and then I won't be moving there until early next year (we can't rent our townhouse out until we finish fulfilling the Obama tax credit requirements anyway - less than a year left). Two mortgages are not fun. :x
Mika and Raptor are doing well, though Mika still has his daily violent heaving fits (some days better/worse than others) and I am excited for them to have a bigger home by next year, though they're not exactly living like paupers here. ;) I think the main thing I'm excited for is the fact that I'll be able to have Java trees, whereas our small two bedroom here has no room for such large footprint items, and I'll finally get to hang a few things from the ceiling.
I have some bird friends I keep in contact with online and, since I don't have time to keep them updated on the forums, I created a blog. If you would like to see how the boys and I are doing, please visit: http://birdsftw.blogspot.com.
I hope everyone and their flock are doing well. I miss everyone and I hope to one day return on a regular basis once the dust settles.
