He's been one hyper little beast the last few days. I don't have to start the screechfest (he does it for me) and he's been dancing around and playing vigorously with all of his toys. Even flinging food just to watch it fly!:omg:

And for the last few weeks he's been doing his birdy aerobics (grab a branch and flap for all he's worth for a minute or two) every night around 7 (after his 6pm nap).

I think he's been sneaking off to starbucks when I'm not looking. :lol

Actually, the exercise is probably very good for him, even if it's a bit disconcerting for his human slave...... :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl Aren't ya glad he's not twins!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disconcerting? No way, I love it. Normally I encourage him to get started, now I just join in (neighbors probably think I'm insane).

He usually gets like this when his hormones start to wind down although they weren't as bad this year as they've been in the past. I never saw him hump his happy hut and he barely actually fed his toys, he just gacked at them. Maybe his age is calming them down, now that he's 9.

Now if I had a house full of them it would be a different story.

He's wound up again today! Now that it's still dark again when I leave for work he decided to sleep in. He just peeked at me from the happy hut and chriped and I know he went back to sleep as soon as I left.

It was also cloudy today so he likely snoozed most of the day (although he was awake enough to eat all the avi-cakes and a few veggie berries).

As soon as I stepped out of the car tonight I could clearly hear him calling up a storm (the outside birds have nothing on him, he was way louder than they were). He's been dancing and chriping ever since.

Linda, what age did you say they start to slow down? Because 9 isn't it.

Now it's time for me to start the screechfest, neighbors be dammned!

Sad to hear of your troubles, yet happy to hear that mine isn't the old guy still rockin it out!

The reality is, men from the moment they can, want to procreate until they are physically unable. Typical! lol

Hang in there.... when will this terrible time be over for us?

Troubles? What troubles? I love a wound up lovebird, that's why I usally get him wound up. Sometimes he just saves me the effort. :clap

This has nothing to do with hormones, just his normal wound up self.
