So I just got my pair of lovebirds and its going on 2 weeks- 3 weeks that I have had them now. I don't know if this is normal or not but my male lovie Jasper is feeding my other lovie Jade the female. I guess its okay but I have been observing them and all my female lovie does is eat, drink, and perch (napping). Now I have seen Jasper the male feed her but she also drinks and eats on her own she never feeds him its always him feeding her. While Jasper is hyper active she is really relaxed and napping. Could she be about to lay a egg? I just want to be pre-paired I don't have a nest in the cage so I don't want her to lay in the feeding area. I'm sure everything is harmless I just want to get you alls feedback about this....

Males normally feed females/mates so there's nothing abnormal there. However, if she's too quiet, you may want to let your avian vet check her out just to make sure she's healthy. Lovebirds tend to be very active so it raises a flag for me when one isn't, unless it happens to ba a much older lovie. Even some of my older ones get around pretty well! :)
