My Easter gift Jewel was a cozy hut. I think she is now trying to nest in it. I cant touch her cage. I had to remove her From the room to clean it. We were making such progress, ugh. >: Should I take it away? Does this take us back to step one?

Remove the hut and the behavior should go back to normal. :) If Jewel is a hen, a hut is viewed as a potential nest and you see the results...... :omg: Some lovies have them for sleeping purposes only but if yours is nesty, a perch is the best option.

You can get her a "hut" that has a perch for a bottom so she can still have something to snuggle in but so it isn't viewed as a nesting spot. I use these for my hens and for pairs with females. Also for Koko- who does not like the ones that swing around, just a piece of fleece hanging from a stainless steel ring draped over a perch make nice snuggles.

So thoughts on putting together a second cage. One with her cozy hut that is just for bedtime. Would that be ok?

A lot of lovie owners have bedtime cages and it's possible that it would work for Jewel. About all you can do is try and see what happens. :)

Well her sleeping cage was the right choice I think. Just rearranged her cage and made.a couple new shreddable toys. I went for a walk along the River to find cool drift wood and constructed a huge play area in my bay window. I hung a spider plant above the play spot. She is busy exploring she forgot about building her nest. SPOILED BIRD LOL:blush:
