So, I fell asleep on the couch last night, reading a book. Beaker was in his cage with the door open, swinging on his swing. He has taken to spending most of his time on his swing, lately, or in his happy hut - regardless of whether the cage is open or shut. He still hates hands, but is happy enough after lots of hopping back and forth, to step up and eat some millet. It was interesting because of this fact, to wake up with him perched on my hip. I said "Hello!" and he skuttled down my leg and ran back to his cage.

I wonder what this all means ;)

Oh my gosh! How sweet is that :rotfl!

Sounds like he's coming to hang...I mean flock out with you :D He's such a cute little sweetheart. But you're right...makes you wonder what his thinking was - heehee. Maybe he was thinking, "awww...ain't she sweet when she's sleeping!"

Before I mention anything here, Beaker does indeed sound like a very sweet character. So please, please don't take this in any negative way. .. Lovebirds will on occasion, tuck themselves into warm cozy spots. Should Beaker manage to do this at any unsuspecting moment, you could shift a bit, or roll over, and accidentally kill him. .. Trust me, this has happened many times. ..........:(

Oh, I know! It is a reality that I am aware of. It was my first thought, and I won't do it again.

My lucky is on his best behaviour around my wife when my wife is sleeping.. normally he is nibbling her, playing in her long hair, biting the keys off her laptop, trying to chew things and so on.. but if she rolls over to go to sleep, he will perch up on top of her and "guard her" while she sleeps :)

@Light487 please refer to Michael's response. There have been some very devastating accidental deaths due to humans rolling onto birds and killing them. Again, no one means any harm but these things happen. The best way to avoid this is to keep your birds away from any dangerous situations which includes sleeping with birds on you or in your clothing. Sorry but I have to reiterate this very important message. It's for everybirdies best interest!

Thanks of course.. but he only does that when I am supervising in the same room. It's rare that it happens but when it does, I am supervising.. have to admit it is hard to keep him out of the sheets at times though.. but whenever he is there, I am keeping as careful guard over him as he is of my wife. :)

Me too! Beaker has only once jumped on me prior to this. He has so often been in his cage lately (grumpy I believe because he is molting), that it was such a surprise to see him sitting on me. It is nice to know he wants to explore me, but I will honestly be more careful next time. There were two of us peachie sitting in the house, I just happened to be the sleeping mountain to climb. I love my little Beaker. I don't want anything bad to happen to him!
