So first thing is when I was talking to my lovebird in her/his cage like whistling and calling Miko's name she then started like tilting her head up and chirping like a kind of regurgitating/bobbing motion and wasn't sure what she was doing. She would like tilt her head up the chirp and go normal and she did it a few times to and wasn't sure what she was doing. Then she kind bobbed her head and stuff and wasn't sure if this was good or bad. Another thing is that her wings grew out (it was clipped before) and now she can semi fly and I don't want her to get lost because there's like creeves and stuff from the containers where I can't reach her and I was wondering if it's easier to gain trust to let her fly or clip her wings (not sure where I live in Honolulu Hawaii). Another thing is how do I bond with her? She gets really loud when she wants out and will climb out and then like run around but she looks at me like im a weirdo at first but will climb on me. I really want to tame her because I see some owners have their birds in their pockets and like cuddling and things like that and just wanted some advice too. ^-^ [EDIT]Another thing is when she steps on my finger she sometimes bites my thumb if it even gets near her and it hurts but it's probably because her beak has grown out also and not sure how to trim it any ideas?

Certain sounds or vocalizations we use to call our lovebirds, at times, can come across as an invitation to become amorous. In an attempt to feed a possible "mate", your Miko is most likely doing the lovebird mating dance. Perfectly normal. .. In keeping Miko's wings clipped.... If there's any possibilty she could become trapped or lost via escape, then I would keep her clipped. Whether you choose to use it with respect to the taming process is a different matter. Some say it helps to speed the process up, others suggest its only a temporary fix, whereas, once the wings grow back you are back to square one.

Bonding with Miko will only happen through time and patience. Because each bird has their own unique characteristics, its probably better to build on that for now. What she may learn in the long run however, is hard to say. Then again, what one bird does, another might not ever do. Please review our "behavior and taming" forum. As for her biting upon step up, sometimes parrots do that as a way to make sure what their stepping on is secure.

Do NOT trim her beak. It is not necessary for lovebirds, and could result in more harm than good. .........:)

Thank you I never thought her bobbing could be a mating dance although I dont even know her gender >.< hopefully she will be able to trsut me more <3[EDIT] Another thing I was curious about was that when I talk to her she squeaks softly and openes and closes her mouth repeatedly without making a sound is that a good sign? Also when I wake up or come home she will constantly screech and chirp like really fast loudly I just wanted to see if anyone knew what she was trying to tell me XD

Yes, I love those soft little squeaks and what not >o. .. Whenever I speak gently to my Goofy lovebird, he kinda does the same. Often, while holding his beak partially open, he lets out tiny peeps as if to mimmick or talk with me. .. On the other hand, whenever I arrive home, both my lovies will screech and chirp their little butts off. Matter of fact, all I gotta do is walk out the door for 2 minutes, walk back in, and their already going crazy as though i've been gone for hours! ... What are they trying to tell me? ... HURRY UP AND LET US OUT LET US OUT LET US OUT LET US OUT!!!!!!! ......:omg:

I would say a good majority of lovebirds do like their beaks rubbed. In fact, sometimes you can redirect nippy bird behavior by offering up a few rubs between the thumb and the side of your forefinger. ... May I also add, some lovebirds aren't too sure of being met by both hands. Reason is, they don't always associate hands as being attached to the rest of you. Good example is my one male lovebird B.B. Whichever hand i'm holding him with, should I reach in with the other, I will most certainly get bit :omg:.........:lol

I got another question you know how you said the chirping and head bobbing at the same time was mating behavior? She also like bowed and chirped and rubs her beak againest the bars of her cage A LOT and she gets so noisy >.< is this all mating behavior or is this her being crazy

Lol. .. While maybe not all her behavior is of the mating variety, i'd say the noisy part and bar rattlin is her just being one very healthy lovebird. .............:D
