I've seen this action with my older male lovebird, but he's 4 years old and I guess it's because he's mature that he's doing it, he takes his head and bobs it up and down like he's throwing up or something, I think like if he were to care for a chick and feed it? But now my 7 week old male lovebird did it and he didn't learn it from my older bird, I'm just wondering what he's doing it for? I don't know what the action means. I can explain further if you want?

Hi! Its sounds like your lovie does the same thing that Angel does. When Angel sees my thumb in the morning he gets so excited and starts bobbing his head and puffing up his feathers. I asked my vet about this behavior and she informed me that Angel is only trying to regurgitate to me. Lo and behold a couple days later ewww something did come out. I was told this is their way of showing affection. And he only does this with me...lol I don't know if I should feel honored lol
