I already have a 2year old male lovebird (yes i'm positive he's a boy) and i want to get a female 1 year old but I was wondering if its a good idea and if they will bond and pair.

Putting a 1 yr old female with a 2 yr old male is perfectly fine, once proper introductions have taken place, that is. Will they bond is anyone's guess. Do a little reading up on proper way to introduce new members into a flock. Even though he's only 1 bird, you are his flock along with other family. Have a quarantine (usually 30 days), then set cages side by side, etc.

Also, be prepared in the event they do not bond. I did the same thing, but now have a male and female that I really don't think will ever bond. Which means an extra cage - along with extra cleaning :omg:
