Yep,

Pics would be good, or do you know the gender and mutation? Those help too :)

I have 19 perfect lovebird names but they're all taken

Seriously, pics, some antedotes, or descriptions are always helpful :)

Amanda,

You might better hold onto that name, YOU might just need it  . I got one I'm holding onto myself. I have the mutation in mind, now I just have to get moved, and I will put that name to good use :D

I went to a few different baby names websites when I was trying to find lovebird names. I have one lovebird whose breath always smells like corn chips; if I had realized that sooner, I would have named him "Frito."

I know this is an old thread but we just got a baby and are having quite a time figuring what to name it.

Isn't it a beauty though?

Looks like a double dark factor dutch blue, aka "slate" or "mauve"
I vote for "Zeolite", or "Zeo" for short....:)

Well, I just got a cute one myself that resembles your cutie. I named my little one Slater. Do you know the gender of your little one? That would help some, but we can always throw out some neutral gender names also. I do like Kimmie's suggestion or Zeo though, and if you find you have a little girl, you could call her Zoe that sounds similar???;)

BTW, did I tell you how adorable s/he is????? Just gorgeous:)

You can't have Stormy; my little Slate male is named Stormie...

...well, ok; maybe we can learn to share. :nyah:

Seriously though, I don't know why, but I saw his picture and the first name to pop into my head was "Gizmo". (and no, MJ, I have not been drinking this this morning OR last night...)

I am in LOVE with the name

Play-Doh

I have no idea why.. I just am. If I ever get the Quaker parrot that I so desire his name will be Play-Doh.

I'm the worst one to ask about names. The little Olive Pallid hen that went to live with Laura was always called Grey Bum and never given a proper name! :lol
A beautiful baby you have there Melissa.

I always like Arashi, meaning 'storm' or 'tempest', for DDF blues. I actually tried to name Akira that, but it didn't quite fit. :D

I generally find big baby name sites that let you search by meaning and go from there. I always start with a shortlist of about five names, then end up with one that's totally different, lol.

http://www.babynamesworld.com/meaning-search.html isn't bad :) I generally try to stick with unusual or foreign names -I'd feel a bit odd if I met someone with the same name as one of my birds, haha.

What a lovely baby! I like Stormy and Tempest too. Cloudy or Cloud is also a cute name. I nearly named my slate lovie Cloud also, but settled on Haku.

btw Minna... LOVE your signature!

Mary, who bred him, says he's a dutch blue double dark, and his parents are one blue and one gray and are very smart birds, that they do all kinds of whistles.

We decided to name him Yoda.

Id say either Rhapsody or Echo. Thats what I was about to name mine when I get it, but now I found an aviary that I can adopt a bird from, and the birds are already named

There was a very good reason. Check this out:

And Mary says they can get lighter as they grow up.

Plus I'm sort of a shaolin jedi myself. :)
