I used to belong to another forum where a member's wife was a consultant for Scensty and had a tart burning 24/7 without any complications. I have a very low watt lightbulb (nightlight lightbulb) over a tart. But, I don't smell it unless I am really close to it. However, this is my favorite time of the year to simmer apple slices, cinnamon, cloves, orange slices, and cranberries on the stove. Smells so good! Oh, another thing I love to do is to sprinkle ground cloves on my carpet and on my rug that is right inside the door. Lots of things that you can do without putting lots of chemicals into the air. I am super sensitive to candles and perfume so I tend to like things natural or light. :)
ETA that I also put some vanilla in my simmering pot, too. And, I put some vanilla and ground cloves in a spray bottle with a lot of water to spray on curtains, couch, or in the air for a quick air freshener.

One of my co-workers sells Scentsy and she and I had this same discussion so she sent a request to the company for clarification. The response that came back stated that they've never had any problems with Scentsy and birds but they would not state that it's safe to use around birds. I use it in the office but not at home.......
