I have seen various species of very young birds having been well socialized early on. This is generally refered to as "taming". However, some of this behavior may have been brought about in part due to the fact that many juvenile birds feel the need to remain close to their parents, be them an avian parent, or a human one. To begin actual "training" at 8 weeks old, apart from taming/socializing, seems a bit out of scope, mainly because I have yet to see or hear of anyone attempting to do so. 6-11 months yes, prior to 6 months no. None the less, i've never had a baby lovebird :(, and if I had, with exception to teaching stepups, I would have most likely held off on training at least till the age of 10. ..........:D
