Ditto has changed his diet again. For most of this year his favorite food has been Garden Veggie Nutriberries and he'd nibble on avi-cakes. Well this week he switched and is back to devouring every avi-cake that's in his bowl and nibbling on nutriberries. I don't know how many nutriberries he ate today (not too many since I didn't have to add any) but I put 8 avi-cakes in there last night and there were 3 partial ones left today. Good thing I have plenty on hand.

I also snuck some of the el-paso berries in there and at least he hasn't tossed them out yet.

And to further make sure I'm paying attention, there were a couple of fresh, very dark brown poops again. Ok check the pellet bowl, yep, he ate all the orange, red and yellow ones again.

Sounds like the Dittobird likes a varied diet much like we humans do! A change of pace is always nice, especially when it catches the notice of the human slave! :)

Yep. He's been doing it for 9 years, why change now.:rotfl

He's also been eating more carrots. well I don't know if eating is quite the right word, more like chewing the juice out of them. he only eats shredded carrots and after he's done chewing the juice out of them the shreds are thin as paper and bone dry. But, whatever makes him happy and gets him his vitamins.:happy:

He changes his diet on his own every few weeks or months. This last stint with the veggie berries being the preferred food was the longest he's ever stuck with one thing.

Actually, that's a good thing. Eating the same thing over and over again can get boring and what he does with the carrots is a healthy thing!

Yeah, watching him eat the carrots is quite amusing. Sometimes he'll run them through his beak like an old typewriter and others he twirls them like a baton.:rotfl

He even woke up early this morning. Normally when I come downstairs at 5:30 he's still in bed. I uncover him around 5:45 give him fresh water and go for a shower. Usually he either comes out while I'm in there or more often right after I come out. Today, right as I walked in the room I heard him chirp and come out of the hut and he was standing on the boing waiting for me when I uncovered him about 30 seconds later.
