Will a four month lovebird pick one person over the other to the point he/she hates the other person, and is it possible to get him to change the person he likes

It is possible for a 4 month old lovebird to pick a favorite. When I brought Gem home, he bonded with me right away and for the first 8 months or so of his life with us, refused to have anything to do with my husband. Gem squawked at him whenever he came into the room, and tried to bite him if my husband got too close when Gem was on my shoulder. Gem has since lightened up a little, and will hop on my husband's shoulder for a bit, but will not under any circumstance let my husband scratch his head (apparently that's only reserved for me).

It sounds like your bird has bonded with this one person, so it will take some time for him/her to realize that the other people are not threats and can be just as much fun as his "mate". The offering of treat (aka bribery) goes a long way :)

Ok thanks I wiill try treats etc as I want him to bond with me too not just my partner, as he was purchased for me haha

he likes me now, has formed a strong bond with him/her. rio knows for sure who 'mum' is, or it could just be were the food comes from haha
