Hi
This is probably going to make me sound really stupid but I'm really worried.
I bought a moisturizing face cream and now (after getting home and re-reading the ingredients) I realized there's avocado in it. Should I go back to the store and try to return it? or should it be okay?
Could the smell or in case one of the birds bites my face possibly hurt them?
I don't want to take any risks and sometimes they do, bite my face :(

I'm sorry again for how idiot this may sound but I could really use some advice

Here's the list of the ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Aqua (Water), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Carbomer, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium PCA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citral, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Fragrance (Parfum) *Certified Organic Ingredient.

Although the moisturizer in question may not contain enough avocado to harm a bird, its that along with all the other ingredients that raise some concern. .. Best option, is to apply it after your birds are tucked in for the night. ............:)

Thanks for your answer Michael :)

I think I'm just going to return it, since I need something I can also apply in the morning

Are there any other dangerous ingredients I should avoid? I thought the rest of them was okay

I, personally, think returning it is a good idea. I'm chemical sensitive and there are a lot of lotions/moisturizers that make my skin itch or break out. My rule of thumb is that if I don't know what it is by looking at the name of the ingredient, I probably don't want to put it on my skin. One of the few that I can use is Neem Oil Cream that I get from Neem Tree Farms online.

Thank you Linda!

I went to the store and returned it. Brought a more simple one this time (with no Avocado in it)

Until this avocado incident I never seriously thought how the products we use on ourselves could impact on our bird family. It's hard finding things I'm completely comfortable with around the birds. At the moment I can't name one, to be honest.
I used to think you just couldn't use perfume anymore.
