This is the first time this has happened to me with lacey... she started doing some "clicking" and dancing and spinning on my shoulder. It started on my head of all places, lol. She was fluffy, putting her wings up and sort of vibrating. Also some food reguritation. This carried on for about 10 mins. Do both males and females do this? She did this for my hubby but not to this extent. I guess i'm surprised she carried on so long. :omg:

This is generally male mating behavior. However, I've seen crossover behavior that can fool the most experienced lovie owner! I have one known, proven hen that loves to hump rolled up paper. Had she not given me several clutches of babies, I would definitely thought I had a male........ :)

i agree linda, if my girls didn't tell me that the breeder told them she was female i would also say i have a male. How to change her/his name now... ? lol i've been thinking more seriously about getting the dna done.

Name changes due to gender errors generally don't go over very well...... :) I thought my BFA was a male and "his" name was Alex. Well, once Alex became sexually mature, I found out he is a she so the name became Alexis, Alex for short. Once a name is learned, it's confusing for the bird so I just kind of modify what already exists. A DNA test would end the mystery.

Lukie... keeps the L at the beginning and the "ee" at the end, which is where I think you put the emphasis saying Lacey.

Try changing "Abel" into a female name... Luckily, we knew a kid whose name was Abelino, so we changed "Abel" to Abelina.
And I think Lacey could become Casey...

Thank you for all the replies :) Casey and Lucky are the names that stick out the most at me. Now to talk hubby into that dna test ...... :)
