I have been watching youtube videos for the last month that teaches lovebirds to do tricks with a clicker. Now that lacey is bonded to me i think she may be a little easier to train as she is also young and not set in her ways yet. How many of you use the clicker with your birds and how quickly did they get the hang of it? Thanks in advance...

Jojo, my Moluccan foster, took just a couple days to associate the clicker with food. you can see him here

I don't like using the clicker most of the time. it's a great tool just to get them used to the idea because it's loud and concise. But it's also very clumsy andI lose mine a lot because it's small. Once Jojo knew what it meant I changed the clicker bridge to a verbal bridge. Much easier!

thanks for your reply. i guess that's what i have been curious about... lacey responds to my voice pretty well now and thought the clicker would maybe confuse her to much. I've seen the clicker used with lovebirds and was wondering how sucessful it has been.

My mother's green cheek conure learned to do tricks very quickly with the use of the clicker. I agree that it's easy to lose so now we simply click with our tongue and it works as well.

I tried to train my Grey with the clicker. Now, when he was a treat, he clicks.

I've also seen a video where the gal was using a hair clip to make the clicker sound. It was not the smallest size, alittle bigger.
