My little lovebird should have just hit the 5 week mark as mentioned in my previous post; he is still on 3 feeds a day and has a healthy appetite.
He is a cuddle bug and is more than happy to just cuddle up. My question is- in the cage I have a nesting box and he spends most of the day in there napping (Not a solid sleep as he will still poke his head out and chats briefly as I pass), then when out the cage especially after meals he is napping, cleaning or just sitting on my shoulder.
I know he's still getting used to his environment but I was wondering just how much napping is healthy? He hasn't really explored his cage and played with his toys yet but has settled in with us nicely (we're on a week having him home now)
The first 3 days being home he really worked on his flying, now most of his flying is just an effort to get up my shoulder.
Is there something I should be doing to encourage more time for activities or let him settle in?
**note since posting this I have decided to remove the nestingbox from his cage as I have to clean it out everyday it's the only place he'll go to the bathroom in his cage making an unhygenic area for him as it piles up by the end of the day.
Thanks!
