Quick question-
My lovebird is very tame and comfortable with me, however lately when I approach the cage he lowers his head, mouth relatively shut will flap his wings 2-3 times quickly and finish with a body vibrate and repeat over and over when I'm talking to him.
I've tried to see if this behaviour is about getting out the cage and offered an open cage to come out however he doesn't fly out to me like he would when spending time out the cage.
He also does this around feeding time and won't "step up" still nips when really hungry so I normally have to actually get a hold of him to take him out the cage, however if it's feeding time and I put my hand flat in the cage with the towel I use during feeding time over my hand he will fly to the towel but won't do the same to my hand.
I've done some research but all of these mention the bird having an open beak and fluffed up feathers to say "don't come here!" but he's not holding his wings open he's flapping. He's very comfortable with me and his evening outside time usually spends it preening himself and often falls asleep there.
Any clue what exactly this body language is?
