I'm not sure if i'm posting this in the right place, if not i'm sorry didn't know where to post it.
recently i have been watching an eagle cam for here in MN. I have seen both eagles sitting on the 2 eggs they have. I am wondering... does the male have a brood patch also? i know the females do but i also see both birds taking turns sitting on the eggs for a few hours at a time. here is this link if anyone wants to watch them.... they believe this is the same pair of eagles that nested here last year. they laid eggs in january which they thought was to early and there were no viable babies.

In the case of eagles, because both mom and dad take turns incubating their eggs, both will form a broad patch or whats also refered to as an incubation patch. .. Regarding lovebirds, because mom is the only one who incubates the eggs, only she will sport a broad patch. ......:)

Cockatiels so the same thing. Both incubate and they take shifts. One will sit during the day and the other will take night shift.

Peragrin falcons also take turns. The pair in Harrisburg get impatient when one is sitting on the eggs and the other wants a turn. They will go so far as to bring food back and put it just out of reach, when the one sitting on the eggs gets up to grab a snack, the other one hops on! :rotfl
